Terms of Use

Effective date: 10.08.2026

These Terms of Use are a legal agreement between you and [your full legal name or registered business name] (“Settlepaw,” “we,” “us”), governing your use of the Settlepaw iOS application (the “App”), which is licensed to you, not sold. This agreement is between you and us only — it is not with Apple, and Apple is not responsible for the App or its content.

1. Acceptance

By downloading, installing, or using Settlepaw, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy at settlepaw.no/privacy. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

2. License

We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to use the App on any Apple device you own or control, in accordance with Apple’s Media Services Terms and Conditions and this agreement. Other members of your household may use the App under this license through Apple’s Family Sharing, as permitted by Apple.

3. Not veterinary or medical advice

Settlepaw supports a behavioral desensitization protocol for canine separation anxiety. It is not a veterinary or medical service, does not diagnose or treat any condition, and is not a substitute for consulting a veterinarian or a certified professional trainer. If your dog shows signs of injury, illness, or severe distress, seek veterinary care.

4. Subscriptions and purchases

Settlepaw offers the following in-app purchases, billed and processed entirely by Apple through the App Store:

  • Monthly subscription — an auto-renewing subscription, billed monthly at the price shown in the App at time of purchase, which renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel anytime in iOS Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.

  • Lifetime purchase — a one-time, non-consumable purchase granting permanent access to the App’s full features on your Apple ID, including future updates.

  • Founder lifetime purchase — a limited-availability version of the lifetime purchase, offered at a reduced price to a fixed number of early purchasers or until general release, whichever comes first. Once the founder allocation is exhausted or the offer period ends, this price is not offered again.

Prices are shown in the App and on the App Store in your local currency and are inclusive of any applicable tax, as set by Apple.

5. Refunds

All purchases are billed by Apple, and only Apple can issue refunds. We do not have the ability to process refunds directly. To request one, visit reportaproblem.apple.com or contact Apple Support.

6. Free features

A meaningful part of Settlepaw — including onboarding, your dog’s initial threshold assessment, pre-departure cue training, an initial set of sessions, and the veterinary-referral guidance — remains free permanently and is not part of any paywall.

7. Shared access

If you share your dog’s profile with another household member, that person receives full access to shared features at no additional cost. Only the person who made the original purchase is charged.

8. Your responsibilities

You agree to use the App only for its intended purpose — training your own dog or a dog in your care — and not to misuse, reverse-engineer, or attempt to circumvent any part of the App, including its purchase mechanisms. You must also comply with any third-party terms of service applicable to your use of the App, such as your device carrier’s or Apple’s own terms.

9. No warranty

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the App is provided “as is,” without warranty of any kind. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that its training recommendations will produce any particular outcome for your dog. In the event the App fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price to you; beyond that refund, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the App, and any other claims, losses, or damages related to a warranty failure are our sole responsibility, not Apple’s.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App. Nothing in these Terms limits our liability beyond what is permitted by applicable law.

11. Responsibility for claims

We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claims relating to the App or your possession and use of it, including product liability claims, claims that the App fails to conform to a legal or regulatory requirement, and claims arising under consumer protection or privacy law.

12. Intellectual property

If a third party claims that the App infringes their intellectual property rights, we, not Apple, are solely responsible for investigating, defending, and resolving that claim.

13. Legal compliance

You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated by the U.S. Government as “terrorist supporting,” and that you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.

14. Apple as third-party beneficiary

You acknowledge that Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms, and that upon your acceptance of these Terms, Apple has the right to enforce them against you as a third-party beneficiary.

15. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Norway, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

16. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
